Using His Voice

Jake has gone from "cooing" to complaining. His new favorite is to go "aye-yi-yi-yi!" when he wants to tell you something. He is very expressive about letting you know his opinions. This has turned into his mantra cry, quieting into a little whimper and then away into nothing as he calms himself to sleep.

Jake Flips Over!

Daddy had to go away this weekend for some big concerts, but that didn't stop Jacob from trying new things! He learned how to flip over from his tummy to his back today. It's been a long time coming with a lot of rocking back and forth, but today he figured out how to get the momentum to get all the way over.

Pitt Baby

Doug's grandpap made this tee shirt for Doug before Doug was born. He wanted Doug to be named Jake. So, now Jake gets to wear his thirty-one year old tee shirt and cheer for the Pit team.

Trip to Beech Hill Farm

Uncle TIm and Aunt Angel came up to visit us from New York City this weekend. We went to Beech Hill Farm, or as I like to call it, the Ice Cream farm. They also have animals, corn mazes (maize mazes?), and lots of pumpkins. Jake is five weeks old here. Angel and Tim smuggled a cheap pumpkin back to NYC. What is $4 in New Hampshire is $8 in New York.

Nan and Pap visit Jake

Nan and Pap came to visit Jake. Jake is about three weeks old. Nan held Jake and rocked him and sang the Mr. Rogers song:
You are my friend
You are special
You are my friend
You're special to me.
You are the only one like you.
Like you, my friend, I like you.
